(Not) the death of Margaret Thatcher

Proof of how titillated the media is by the prospect of Thatcher actually dying came this weekend when she was admitted to hospital for tests. She'd been feeling faint. Stayed one night. Came out again feeling fine.

Not much of a story, right?

Wrong. A lead item on all the news bulletins, and front page coverage in the Sunday papers. And the start of what might become a campaign to get her a state burial when she does eventually die.

Elsewhere there's some more coverage of The Death Of Margaret Thatcher (the play) from France 24 TV.
